Fernanda França

Fernanda França is an environmental engineer graduated from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2014), with a master’s degree in Civil Engineering from COPPE/UFRJ (2019), specialising in Water Resources and the Environment.

She works in the areas of climate change, water resources, sustainable finance, and social investments in infrastructure projects. She has been working at the Brazilian Foundation for Sustainable Development (FBDS) as a consultant since 2019.

Bruno R. Ribeiro

Bruno R. Ribeiro

Bruno R. Ribeiro works in producing scientific evidence to support environmental decision-making and the development of public policies in Brazil.

With a Ph.D. in Ecology and Evolution from the Federal University of Goiás and experience in the environmental field, he is a researcher and environmental consultant specializing in spatial prioritization for biodiversity conservation/restoration.

He has worked with federal agencies such as the Ministry of the Environment (MMA), the Chico Mendes Institute for Biodiversity Conservation (ICMBio), and the National Center for Flora Conservation (CNCFlora), as well as with state agencies, non-governmental organizations, and the private sector.

He contributed as an analyst at CNCFlora/JBRJ and is the Brazil Plant Red List Authority for the IUCN.

Guilherme Domingues dos Santos

Guilherme Domingues is a geographer from the Federal Fluminense University (UFF), with a master’s degree in Cartographic Engineering from the Military Institute of Engineering (IME). He has academic and professional experience in spatial analysis, geoprocessing, remote sensing, and tropical landscapes.

He has been with the Brazilian Foundation for Sustainable Development (FBDS) since 2016, where he coordinates the geoprocessing and remote sensing team. This team carries out mapping of Brazilian biomes, producing detailed information on land use and cover, mapping of the hydrographic network, and its respective permanent preservation areas.

Karlo Gregório Guidoni Martins

Karlo Gregório Guidoni Martins

Karlo Guidoni is a biologist from the Federal University of Espírito Santo and holds a PhD in Ecology & Evolution from the Federal University of Goiás.

He has conducted research focused on spatial ecology and climate change, with experience in multivariate statistical analysis and management of geospatial and biodiversity data.

He works on open-source software projects dealing with biodiversity data and has been collaborating on FBDS-led projects since 2011, including PlanaFlor and the risk assessment of terrestrial biodiversity in the Rio Doce region.

Liana Gemunder

Liana Gemunder holds a postgraduate degree in Hospitality from the Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne (Switzerland) and a bachelor’s degree in Tourism.

She has been serving as Executive Secretary at FBDS since 1995, with over 25 years of experience working with national and international organizations.

In the Sustainable Rural Caatinga Project (2019 – 2023), she served as Administrative and Financial Coordinator, managing work teams, overseeing stakeholders, and handling contract control, procurement processes, and financial management.

Luis Saporta

Luis Saporta is an environmental economist with a degree in Economics from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2005), a master’s degree in Economics from EPGE/FGV (2008), and a PhD in Energy Planning from COPPE/UFRJ (2017).

He has conducted research in the areas of climate change, renewable energy, corporate climate strategies, environmental public policies, and social investments in infrastructure projects.

He has been working at the Brazilian Foundation for Sustainable Development (FBDS) as a researcher, project manager, and coordinator of programs and projects since 2008.

Myrian Coe de Oliveira

Myrian Coe de Oliveira

Myrian Coe holds a degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (1991), and a postgraduate qualification in Systems Analysis (1993) from PUC-RJ, as well as an MBA in Business Management from IBMEC-RJ (2002).

She has worked in various large companies, coordinating IT projects, managing IT/Telecom contracts, and implementing IT governance concepts. She also has experience in participating in government tenders and bids in the area of Cloud Computing.

Rafaela Silva

Rafaela Silva is the Scientific Coordinator at FBDS, where she has been working since 2021. In addition to her directorial responsibilities, she manages and leads projects both technically and financially, focusing on biodiversity conservation, ecosystem services, public policy implementation, spatial prioritization of areas, and habitat modelling. She is involved in engaging federal and state governments and institutions in environmental policy projects.

Throughout her career, she has worked in both private and third-sector institutions, with experience in developing Payment for Ecosystem Services initiatives.

Ricardo Gonzalez

Ricardo Gonzalez

Ricardo Gonzalez is a biologist graduated from the State University of Northern Rio de Janeiro (UENF), with a specialization in Environmental Risk Analysis from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at UNICAMP, through PROMINP in 2007. He holds a master’s degree in Biodiversity in Conservation Units from the Research Institute of the Rio de Janeiro Botanical Garden (2019).

He worked at Chemtech Engenharia on risk analysis and health and safety projects for various units of Petrobras and Vale.

Since 2012, he has been working at FBDS on Climate Change projects.

Thaís Mattos

Thaís Mattos

Thaís Mattos is a PhD candidate in the Energy Planning Program at COPPE/UFRJ, holding a master’s degree in Energy Planning from COPPE/UFRJ (2018) and a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2011).

She has been working as an analyst and project manager at FBDS since 2012, focusing on environmental and climate change projects. Her work includes developing carbon and water footprints for chemical and energy companies, greenhouse gas inventories for companies across various sectors, studying better management of Guanabara Bay, managing socio-environmental projects, and establishing guidelines for a green economy in Brazil across diverse sectors.

She has completed a course on carbon footprint by CarbonTrust (London) in the PAS 2050 methodology and a VBA for Excel course at PUC-RJ.
