FBDS develops studies and projects in the area of sustainable agriculture and forestry, always seeking to approach the subject in a holistic manner and analyzing the connection and interdependencies between the different factors involved. The main points of focus are the origin of production (family farming, agribusiness, sponsoring activities), production factors (usage of land, water, seeds/seedlings), environmental impact (fertilizers and agrochemicals, intensive water usage, nitrogen cycle, impact of climate changes, etc.) and institutional (rural extension, access to credit, legislation, etc.).

Special attention is being given to the implementation of the Forest Code and all the support work for Rural Environmental Registration.

In partnership with international institutions, FBDS develops projects for food safety and requirements linked to the conservation of the biodiversity, water and energy resources.
