We develop projects for large urban centers covering Water and Sanitation, Mobility, Adaptation and Resilience to Climate Changes, Governance and Ecosystem Services. We promote alliances which unite different themes in search of solutions for cities.
FBDS promotes and actively collaborates with important local, national and international initiatives for the development of solutions for the sustainability, adaptation and resilience of urban centers. Therefore, FBDS coordinates studies and projects in the areas of urban mobility, sanitation, solid waste, sustainable construction, energy efficiency, urban planning, adaptation and resilience to climate changes, among other topics of interest. Special attention is given to the issue of governance and public policies, particularly in relation to the large centers represented by the metropolitan regions of the main Brazilian cities.
At the international level, as well as partnerships with renowned institutions in this field, FBDS participates in the Workgroup "Sustainable Cities: Inclusive, Resilient, and Connected" of the SDSN - Sustainable Development Solutions Network. FBDS also developed, in partnership with the EPA - Environmental Protection Agency and the Rockefeller Foundation, the first collaboration project between Brazil and the United States in this area: JIUS - Joint Initiative on Urban Sustainability.
